A sunset photo, a competitor's landing page, a vintage poster, a fabric swatch: the colours that make them work are sitting there, but you need them as codes to use in a design, a slide deck or a stylesheet. Drop the image on this page and it reads the whole picture and returns its six dominant colours as a palette, each with a HEX code you can copy with a click. If one specific spot matters, click it on the image and that pixel's HEX and RGB values appear as well.

The palette is a statistical summary, which is worth understanding. It reflects the colours that cover the most area, so a photo of a red boat on a big grey sea gives you mostly greys, with the red perhaps absent; for the accent you want, click the boat directly. Neighbouring pixels in a photo also differ more than the eye notices, so sampling two or three points in the same patch and choosing the one that looks representative gives a steadier result than a single click.

For a brand colour, take the code from the original logo file or the brand guidelines rather than from a photo of a sign, since JPG compression and camera white balance shift hues slightly. The image is analysed in your browser and never uploaded, so a confidential mock-up stays confidential.

Frequently asked questions

How are the palette colors chosen?
The tool analyzes the image and surfaces its most prominent, representative colors — the ones your eye reads as the photo's theme.
Can I copy the codes?
Yes — each swatch gives you a copyable HEX code to drop straight into your design or CSS.
How many colours does the palette contain?
Six. The tool scans the whole image and returns the six colours that dominate it, which is enough for a working scheme: background, text, one or two accents and a couple of neutrals.
Why is a colour I can clearly see missing from the palette?
The palette favours colours that cover a large area, so a small bright accent can be outvoted by a big neutral background. Click the accent directly on the image to get its exact HEX and RGB values.
