A passport photo is a small picture with strict rules: exact dimensions, a plain light background, the head a certain size in the frame. Shops charge for producing it and send you away with two copies. This tool makes the same thing from a photo you take at home, for dozens of passports, visas and ID cards from many countries.

Choose the document and drop your photo. The background is removed by an AI model and replaced with a plain colour (white for most documents, light grey for the UK format, or light blue, red or blue if you pick one), and the picture is sized to the official dimensions and print resolution for that document. You get two files: the digital photo for online applications, and a print sheet with several copies that you can print at any photo kiosk for the price of one standard print.

The photo of your face for an identity document is about as sensitive as an image gets, so it is processed on your device and never uploaded. What the tool cannot do is pose for you: look straight at the camera with a neutral expression, even light and no shadows on your face, and check your country's rules on glasses and head coverings. Requirements change, so confirm the current ones with the issuing authority.

Frequently asked questions

How does this save me money?
Pharmacies charge ~$15 for passport photos. Here it's free: download the print sheet and print it for about $1 — you get several copies.
Will it be accepted?
The photo is sized to the official dimensions and DPI for the document you pick, on the plain background colour you pick. Follow your country's pose guidelines (neutral face, eyes open).
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Everything — including the AI background removal — runs on your device. Ideal for a sensitive document photo.
How should I take the photo?
Stand a metre from a plain wall facing a window, have someone else hold the phone at eye level, and leave space around your head. Avoid flash and overhead light, which cast shadows.
How do I print the sheet?
The print sheet is laid out for a standard photo print. Print it at a photo kiosk or shop at 100% size, without "fit to page", and cut along the photos.
