Privacy Policy

Who is responsible

PixThru is run by Luiz Fernando Mueller, an individual, under the brand Mueller's Corp (not a registered company). Contact: hello@pixthru.com.

Your files

Images, videos, audio recordings and PDFs are processed locally, in your browser, by code that runs on your own device. Your files are never uploaded to our servers and we never see, store, or transmit them. The speech and translation models used for transcription are downloaded to your browser and run there; the recording itself does not leave your device.

To work, some tools download their engine or AI model the first time you use them, from public content delivery networks: cdn.jsdelivr.net and unpkg.com (code libraries such as the video engine), huggingface.co and its CDN (*.hf.co, speech and translation models) and staticimgly.com (the background-removal model). Like any web request, these downloads give those providers your IP address and browser details; they never receive your file. Your browser keeps the downloads so they are not fetched again.

The one exception: Instant mode

The transcription tools offer an optional Instant mode. It is off by default and you have to switch it on yourself. In Instant mode the transcription is done by your browser's built-in speech recognition service, which means the audio is sent by your browser to that service (Google in Chrome, Microsoft in Edge) and handled under its privacy policy, not ours. We still never receive the audio or the text. If you want the recording to stay on your device, keep the default Private mode.

Cookies and your choice

If your device uses any European time zone (including those of the EU, the EEA, the UK, Switzerland and the French overseas regions), a bar at the bottom of the page asks before Google Analytics is used. Until you choose, Google Analytics is not loaded at all: nothing is sent to it and no cookie is set. Accept loads Google Analytics, which then sets its cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>). Reject loads nothing, and every tool works exactly the same. Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage and we ask again after six months.

You can change your mind at any time with the "Cookie settings" button at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies and stop sending data from that moment on; on the next pages Google Analytics is not loaded.

Everywhere else, Google Analytics loads with the page, and the same "Cookie settings" button lets you switch it off. If your time zone is outside Europe (this includes UTC and browsers that do not report one) but your IP address is in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google Analytics still loads, but without analytics cookies: Google's consent mode is set to "denied" by default for those regions, so it neither stores nor reads cookies there and sends only cookieless measurements. For everyone, the advertising signals (ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization) are set to denied.

Everything else the site keeps in your browser is functional and never sent to us: your light/dark theme, your cookie choice, the suggestion-box votes you cast, a note that Instant transcription does not work on your device (if that happened), copies of the pages you visited kept by the site's service worker so they load faster, and the AI models and engines the tools download, so they don't have to be fetched again. Only when analytics is allowed, the list of tools you used during the current visit is kept in session storage, so we can count how many people use more than one tool.

Feedback you choose to send

Under a result you may click "Did it work?" and, if you wish, type a short note. That click and that note (up to 100 characters) are recorded in Google Analytics, together with its random browser identifier, so we can fix what is broken. The same goes for the "Which tool should we build next?" box on the home page. Both appear only when analytics is allowed: where we ask, only after you click Accept, so without that consent nothing you type can be recorded. If your time zone is outside Europe (this includes UTC and browsers that do not report one) but your IP address is in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, they appear and the note is sent as a cookieless measurement, as described above. Please do not put personal information in the note. Nothing about your file or its contents is included.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (as described above) and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand traffic — pages visited, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, and usage events: which tool was used, the options chosen (for example the language, model or mode of a transcription), how long processing took, how many files, whether it completed, the file type such as "jpg", and a short description of the error if one happened. None of this includes your files, their names or any content you process. Google Analytics, when allowed, sets cookies and gives your browser a random identifier; we do not receive your name or contact details and do not try to identify you. Cloudflare Web Analytics, provided by the network that serves the site, does not use cookies or local storage and gives your browser no identifier, so it does not depend on the choice above. You can block analytics with any standard content blocker without affecting the tools. The site's fonts are served from pixthru.com itself, so loading them sends nothing to a third party.

Advertising & cookies

To keep every tool free, this site may display advertising served by third-party vendors, including Google AdSense. These vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Specifically:

Ads would never receive access to your files — they are processed on your device and, except in the optional Instant transcription mode, never leave it. The site may also use clearly-disclosed affiliate links; they never change the price you pay.
