drop a square logo/image — best results with a 512×512+ image
The small icon in a browser tab is not one file. A site needs an .ico for older browsers, PNGs at several sizes for modern ones, a larger icon for when someone adds the site to an iPhone home screen, and two more for Android. Miss one and that device shows a blank or a blurry icon.
Drop one square image and this tool produces the full set in a ZIP: favicon.ico, and PNGs at 16, 32, 48, 64, 180, 192 and 512 pixels. Those cover browser tabs, bookmarks, Apple touch icons and Android and PWA icons.
The icons are generated on your device. For a clean result, start from a square image of at least 512 pixels, and keep the design simple: at 16 pixels, detail and thin lines disappear, so a single letter or a bold shape reads far better than a full logo. After uploading the files to your site, link them in the page head; without those tags browsers may not find them.

Frequently asked questions
- What do I get?
- A favicon.ico plus PNGs at 16, 32, 48, 64, 180 (Apple), 192 and 512 (Android) — everything a site needs, in one ZIP.
- Is my image uploaded?
- No — the favicons are generated on your device.
- How do I add the favicon to my site?
- Upload the files to the root of your site and add link tags in the head for the .ico, the PNG sizes and the Apple touch icon. Most site builders also have a favicon field where you upload the 512 pixel PNG.
- Why does my favicon look blurry?
- The source image was too small or too detailed. Start from 512 pixels or more and simplify the design so it survives at 16 pixels.
