Three formats cover almost everything on the web, and each has a job. JPG is for photos: small files, no transparency. PNG is for screenshots, logos and anything with sharp edges or a transparent background. WebP does both in a smaller file and is what modern sites prefer. This tool converts between the three.
The conversion is done by your own browser, the same engine that draws images on every page you visit, so there is nothing to install and nothing to upload. Pick the output format, drop the image, download.
One thing catches people out: JPG cannot store transparency. If you convert a logo with a transparent background to JPG, the transparent areas become white. Keep it as PNG or WebP if the background matters. And converting a JPG to PNG does not bring back quality the JPG already lost; it only stops further loss. iPhone HEIC photos need the HEIC to JPG tool on this site, because browsers cannot open that format directly.

Frequently asked questions
- Is any file uploaded?
- No. The conversion happens on your device using your browser's canvas — nothing is sent anywhere.
- Why did my transparent PNG get a white background?
- JPG doesn't support transparency, so transparent areas become white. Convert to PNG or WebP to keep transparency.
- Which format gives the smallest file?
- WebP, for almost any image. JPG is next for photos. PNG is the largest for photos but best for screenshots and graphics with few colours.
- Will a site accept WebP?
- Most modern sites do, but some upload forms still only take JPG or PNG. If a form rejects your file, convert it to JPG.
