cut on your device — nothing is uploaded, no watermark
Most online video cutters have two dirty secrets: they upload your whole video just to throw most of it away, and they re-encode what's left — meaning a slow wait and a quality drop, often with a watermark stamped on top as a thank-you. This trimmer does neither. It uses FFmpeg's stream copy in your browser: the selected section is cut out of the file byte-for-byte, with zero quality loss, usually in about a second regardless of video size.
The one honest caveat of lossless cutting: the start point snaps to the nearest keyframe (typically within a couple of seconds). If your format can't be stream-copied, the tool automatically falls back to a precise re-encode and tells you it did. Load the video, use the player to find your points, hit ⤓ now to capture them, and trim.

Frequently asked questions
- Why is the cut so fast?
- Because nothing is re-encoded: the tool copies the selected bytes into a new file. A 2GB video trims in roughly the same second as a 20MB one — there's no upload and no processing queue.
- What does "snaps to a keyframe" mean?
- Video files only allow clean cuts at keyframes (full frames stored every few seconds). Lossless trimming starts your clip at the keyframe just before your chosen time. If you need frame-exact cuts, the automatic re-encode fallback handles formats that require it.
- Is there really no watermark?
- Really none. Watermarks exist to upsell paid tiers on server-based tools. This runs on your device, costs us nothing per use, and outputs your video untouched.
- What formats can I trim?
- MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV for video; MP3, M4A, WAV and OGG for audio. The output keeps the original format when stream copy is possible, or becomes MP4/MP3 when a precise re-encode is needed.

- How to make a video file smaller without ruining it Four things decide how big a video is: length, resolution, bitrate and codec. Which one to change for email, WhatsApp, a website or a USB stick, the arithmetic behind "fit under 25 MB", and why trimming first is free.
