cut on your device — nothing is uploaded, no watermark
Most of what people want from an MP3 is a piece of it: the thirty seconds of a song for an Android ringtone, the one answer from a two-hour interview, a lecture recording minus the ten minutes of settling in, a podcast clip to share, a voice memo with the dead air at the start removed. The usual cutter websites upload the whole file, re-encode what remains and hand back a smaller, slightly worse copy.
This page uses stream copy: the section between your two markers is lifted out of the file byte for byte, with no decoding and no re-encoding, so a 320 kbps MP3 stays 320 kbps and a 128 kbps one is not degraded further. Because nothing is recomputed, the cut usually takes about a second whether the file is three minutes or three hours. Play the audio in the built-in player, mark the start and the end, and download; the file stays on your device throughout.
It extracts one continuous section per pass, so for two separate highlights run the file twice. It keeps the original format, which means an M4A comes out as M4A; use the Audio Converter afterwards if you need MP3. And an iPhone ringtone needs a further conversion to M4R in iTunes or GarageBand, which is outside what this tool does.

Frequently asked questions
- Does cutting reduce the audio quality?
- No. Stream copy extracts the original compressed audio without decoding it — the cut section is byte-identical to that part of your original file.
- Can I cut M4A, WAV or OGG too?
- Yes — the same lossless approach works for M4A, WAV and OGG. The output keeps the original format.
- How precise is the cut?
- Audio frames are tiny (about 26ms in MP3), so cuts land essentially exactly where you set them — unlike video, there is no keyframe snapping to worry about.
- Can I make a ringtone with this?
- For Android, yes: cut the 20 to 30 seconds you want and set the MP3 as a ringtone in the phone's sound settings. iPhones require an M4R file imported through iTunes or GarageBand, which is a separate step.
- Does it handle very long recordings?
- Yes. Stream copy does not re-encode, so a three-hour recording cuts about as fast as a three-minute one. The whole file is held in memory, though, so very large files are better handled on a computer than a phone.

- How to make a video file smaller without ruining it Four things decide how big a video is: length, resolution, bitrate and codec. Which one to change for email, WhatsApp, a website or a USB stick, the arithmetic behind "fit under 25 MB", and why trimming first is free.
