Combine PDF Files Into One

The request is always for one file. A mortgage lender wants payslips, bank statements and an ID in a single PDF. A university application takes one upload for transcripts and references. An expense claim needs twenty receipts together. A court or a landlord wants the signed lease and its annexes as a single document. Meanwhile the papers arrive as a dozen separate PDFs from a dozen sources.

Drop them here, put them in order, and download one combined PDF. The pages are copied into the new file exactly as they were: searchable text stays searchable, a scanned page stays a scan at the same quality, and no page is re-encoded, so the result is roughly the sum of its parts in size. There is no limit on the number of files or on how often you do it, and because the merge runs on your device, a folder of financial and identity documents is never uploaded to anyone's server.

Two practical limits. A password-protected PDF, which banks and payroll providers love to send, cannot be merged until it has been unlocked. And the whole job is held in memory, so joining several large scanned files is noticeably slower on a phone than on a laptop. If the combined file ends up over an upload cap, compress the heaviest source document, since merging itself adds nothing.
