A video file is really two tracks in one container, and sometimes only the audio is worth keeping: a two-hour lecture recording you want to listen to on the commute, an interview you need to transcribe, a voice memo you filmed by accident. This page pulls the audio track out and saves it as an MP3 that plays on any phone, car stereo or player. A 1 GB recording typically becomes a few tens of megabytes.
It accepts the formats phones and screen recorders produce, MP4 and MOV among them, plus WebM, MKV and the other common containers. The extraction runs in your browser with FFmpeg, so the video is not uploaded, and there is no upload size cap to hit: the only ceiling is the memory of the device you are using.
What it is not: a downloader. It does not fetch anything from YouTube, TikTok or Instagram; it converts a file that is already on your device. And the output is an MP3, which is a lossy re-encode of the original track, fine for listening and transcribing, less so as a master for music editing, where the Audio Converter on this site can give you WAV instead.
