Many generators break it by encoding their own short address instead of yours, so they can count scans and show ads, and switch the code off when a trial ends.
This page writes your link into the code itself. There is no redirect in the middle, no account and nothing on our side that can expire; the code keeps working as long as the page it points to exists. The whole thing is generated in your browser, so the link is not sent anywhere.
The honest trade-off of a direct code is permanence in both directions. Nobody can switch it off, but you cannot change the destination after printing either, and there are no scan statistics because nothing passes through us. If you need to change where a code goes later, point it at a short page on your own site and redirect from there. Keep the link short, since a longer one makes a denser pattern that is harder to scan when small, include the https:// so phones treat it as a link, and test with a camera before printing.

- Yes. With the scheme in place a phone camera recognises the content as a web address and offers to open it. Without it, some phones show the text instead of a tappable link.
- Can I see how many people scanned the code?
- No. Nothing passes through our servers, so there is nothing to count. If you need scan numbers, link the code to a page on your own site and read the visits in your analytics.
