Upscale an Image 4x

Four times is a big jump: a 500 by 400 image becomes 2000 by 1600. That is the scale of change needed when a logo pulled from an old email signature has to go on a banner, when a product image from a supplier's catalogue is the only one you have, or when a small scan must be printed at A4. The result is enlarged in several careful steps and then sharpened, which keeps edges defined instead of the smeared look a single plain resize produces.

Be clear about what this size of enlargement can do. Graphics with flat colours and clean lines, screenshots, type and reasonably sharp photos come out well, because sharpening restores the edge contrast the resize softened. A photo that was already blurry, or a face that occupies a few dozen pixels, gains size but not detail; no amount of resampling knows what was there, and this tool does not guess with an AI model. For those cases 2x is often the more honest choice, since it magnifies the original's flaws less. One hard limit: the output cannot exceed 8000 pixels on the longest side, so a source wider than 2000 pixels cannot be enlarged the full four times. Large results take a moment on a phone, since everything is computed on your own device.
